Land & Wave is an outdoor adventure company that has been operating since 2009 and consists of three directors, one partner and eight managers keeping things running ship shape.
Add in a crew of around 40 amazing seasonal instructors and you have all the ingredients you need to help people have amazing adventures in the great outdoors.

One of our most popular activities is Coasteering. Coasteering involves exploring rocky coastal areas by swimming, climbing, and jumping. We recommend this activity to anyone looking to get their adrenaline fix and also explore the Jurassic Coast in a totally unique perspective.
Along with providing amazing group and private experiences we also specialise in providing educational and outdoor experiences for school groups and Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) residential trips.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a youth awards program that encourages young people to develop skills, physical fitness, volunteer work, and adventure.
The Residential section of the award, Gold DofE Residential is a five-day, four-night residential experience that allows young people to develop and demonstrate their skills in a new environment, such as the one provided by Land & Wave. They are providing activities like Coasteering, Paddle Boarding, Bushcraft and many more which will help the young people to develop the necessary skills.
Our Fast Track Outdoor Instructor Training offers a unique opportunity to gain 16 National Governing Body qualifications in just 15 weeks, making it the quickest way to jumpstart your career in the outdoor industry.
The Land & Wave Outdoor Instructor Training course in Dorset is a well-established program with over a decade of experience in preparing individuals to become professional outdoor instructors. We continuously refine and improve our course to ensure it remains one of the most valuable and effective options in the industry.
We’re proud to say that our course boasts an impressive employment rate of 100%. Thanks to their newfound qualifications and skills, all participants who applied for an outdoor instructor job were successful in securing one.
Our professional coaches also have a wide network of contacts in the outdoor industry, both in the UK and internationally, giving graduates priority access to job opportunities. Additionally, Land & Wave regularly hires 10-15 course graduates each year and offers a guaranteed job interview to all participants at the end of the course.
Our Water Safety Training courses are designed for you to learn real-world training scenarios in natural environments ensure you’re fully prepared for swiftwater, flood, and technical rescues.
Our Safe Working Near Water course is designed for people tasked with working near water and who will be issued with lifejackets but will not be expected to intentionally enter the water, eg EA, SEPA, NRW personnel, construction industry workers, road and bridge maintenance workers.
We also offer the Safe Working In Water (SWIW) course, which is designed for people tasked with working in water who will need a self- and co-worker rescue capability using conditional rescue techniques, eg throwbags, wading techniques and reach poles. The target audience is EA, SEPA, NRW personnel, construction industry workers, road and bridge maintenance workers.
This course offers a higher level rescue capability than the Safe Working Near Water (SWNW) course.
