Results Day advice for students in Dorset

It’s GCSE Results day – a rollercoaster of emotions. Elation, pressure, expectation and sometimes disappointment.

Whatever the the outcome, be reassured that there is a course out there for everyone.

Every adult will tell you about their career paths and you’ll notice that everybody finds different routes to get there. We all choose different stepping stones to help us lead to the one common goal: a great job that makes us happy and fulfilled.

So, if you did well, congratulations! You now have the luxury of choice and must now decide which path you’ll follow.

A-Levels vs BTEC 3

The Outdoor Adventure BTEC Level 3 will give you:

  • A BTEC 3 Extended Diploma (accepted by uni’s)
  • Real work experience working in the outdoor industry
  • At least 6 instructor qualifications that enable you to work in the outdoors
  • A day a week training in the great outdoors and learning new skills
  • No exams – just assessed coursework
  • Free time to study or get additional work experience

Entry requirements: Five GCSE’s A* – C

If you didn’t get the grades you needed to get into college, then there are still fantastic options that can help you start your career path on the right track:

The Outdoor Adventure BTEC Level 2 will give you:

  • A BTEC 2 Diploma
  • A 1-year foundation year to help you progress onto a college course or sixth form course
  • Real work experience working in the outdoor industry

– Taining in the outdoors by outdoor professionals

  • No exams – just assessed coursework

Entry requirements: Four GCSE’s A* – E
